Since Disneyland opened seven years ago, the sculptors, modelers and other craftsmen of the Park's staff shop have translated Art Director's renderings into just about any finished product you can name -from beaver's dams to desert buttes, and exotic fish to elephants. Earlier this year, when new additions in Disneyland's Jungle River Cruise were being added, the renderings called for an authentic section of ancient Cambodian ruins. Foreman Bud Washo happily recalled that Harold Wilson, a sculptor, was an expert in matters of Asian artifacts, and called to see whether he was available. Wilson wasn't. Seems he was out of the country...searching for ancient ruins in Cambodia! (Vacationland, summer 1963)May 02, 2008
