100 viewsHere the bridge has bee temporarilly installed. This is the south side. The hand railing was constructed from brass rod. The 'stones' were individually cut from .010" styrene strips ranging from .040" to .100". The park paving from the Plaza Hub and Frontieland stockade entrance leading to the wood planking on the bridge will be added once the bridge has been permanently installed.

79 viewsTo prepare the Frontierland piece for our model I first began with the removal of the trees. This is necessary in order to be able to pass the piece through my band saw.

42 viewsHere I'm separating the Adventureland entrance from the Frontieland area. The big grove of bamboo was removed from the area where the blade is shown in this view.

33 viewsIn order to remove the landscaping around the stockade wall several notch-cuts were necessary. This procedure is illustrated in several views that follow.

27 viewsHandsome and proud, the Mark Twain steams its way along the Rivers Of America. This attraction was personally paid for by Walt's own money. On a beautiful day, is there any better seat than on the bow?

24 viewsThe tower to the left of the entrance was removed so it could be positioned a little farther away. This will mean extending the stockade wall to incorporate it back into the fort structure.

24 viewsThe Olszewski model of the Mark Twain is gorgeous. However, shown here, there seems to have been a problem with the production of this piece. The second and third decks sit noticably higher on the right hand (starboard) side at the bow. This is the only critique we have of an otherwise fantastic art piece. Hopefully this will be corrected when the model is re-released.

19 viewsWe noticed a curious detail difference between our 50th Anniverary and 'standard' Mark Twain steamboats: the chairs on the 50th version face outward while these shown here face inward. Is this an anomaly or are all the pieces assembled this way? Bet you're going to go look at yours now, aren't you?

16 viewsThere is a Guest Book in the Pilot House that Tahnne and I were all too happy to sign. Slight overexposure of my photo prevents the names to be read.
