The Fred Gurley is lacking only a couple of details but here it has been "steamed up" for testing.

Here the Fred Gurley superstructure has a primer coat applied.

Progressing along with the cab and tender built up. The sand dome is missing here because the screw that holds the superstructure to the chassis is located there. A small neodium magnet in the sand dome will hold it in place so it can be removed to allow maintenance work to be performed.

Here is a comparison with the under construction Fred Gurley with an original Z gauge Marklin locomotive on the rear track. Not much of the original loco has been kept.
